That way dynamic page authors can simply copy and paste page sources to check validaty instead of saving to the hard drive and uploading. We haven't touched the relevant code in ages so we're uncertain to what extent this feature works. If you can identify individual issues with it then please file new Bugzilla bugs for each issue and set (or suggest setting) a blocker on this bug (Bug #75).
